【What’s Metanil Yellow】

Metanil Yellow is yellow powder. Soluble in water, orange yellow, adding hydrochloric acid red and precipitate, adding sodium hydroxide solution color unchanged, but after excessive precipitation. Soluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, benzene and ethylene glycol ether, slightly soluble in acetone. It is purple in concentrated sulfuric acid, and red precipitates are produced after dilution. It is blue in concentrated nitric acid and gradually becomes orange. Dark green color when stained with copper ion; The color of iron ion is lighter; Chromium-ion color changes slightly.
