It is yellow in concentrated sulfuric acid, and it becomes dark orange after dilution. It is orange in concentrated nitric acid, and becomes orange brown after dilution. Malachite Green Crystal is used for dyeing acrylic, silk and wool. It can also be used for dyeing leather, paper, hemp and bamboo.
