Vat Olive Green B is a dark grey-green powder. It is insoluble in water and ethanol, but soluble in pyridine. It is bright yellow-green in concentrated sulfuric acid and olive green after dilution. It is dark blue in an alkaline solution of hydrosulfite and dark brown in an acidic solution.
